Disney Destiny may share its basic layout with Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, but it does not feel like a simple copy of either ship.
After sailing all three Wish-class ships, we found that each one has its own identity. Disney Wish leans into classic fairy-tale elegance. Disney Treasure is centered around adventure and exploration. Disney Destiny takes a much bolder direction, building its personality around the timeless conflict between heroes and villains.
That difference is most noticeable in the experiences Disney created exclusively for this ship.
Several popular Wish-class features also appear aboard Disney Destiny, including Worlds of Marvel, 1923, AquaMouse, Haunted Mansion Parlor, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. Those may still be worth experiencing, but they are not what makes Destiny unique.
These seven experiences are currently specific to Disney Destiny and cannot simply be repeated aboard Disney Wish, Disney Treasure or another Disney Cruise Line ship.
1. Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King
The most significant exclusive experience aboard Disney Destiny is Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King.
This rotational dining restaurant brings the music and storytelling of The Lion King into a live theatrical dinner experience. Rather than presenting a direct retelling of the movie, the restaurant celebrates Simba’s journey through live vocals, musicians, familiar songs and scenes inspired by the film.
The performance unfolds on a central stage while guests dine around it, allowing the entertainment to remain visible throughout the restaurant.
The menu also helps distinguish Pride Lands from the other theatrical restaurants aboard the Wish-class ships. It incorporates flavors, ingredients and dishes inspired by cuisines from across Africa, alongside approachable selections for guests who prefer something more familiar. Disney describes Pride Lands as the first family dining experience of its kind devoted to the music and moments of The Lion King.
How It Differs From Wish And Treasure
Each Wish-class ship has its own signature theatrical dining experience:
Disney Wish features Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure
Disney Treasure features Plaza de Coco
Disney Destiny features Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King
Pride Lands has a different energy from the other two. Arendelle feels like a royal celebration, while Plaza de Coco is structured around family and Día de los Muertos. Pride Lands feels more like a live musical concert built around one of Disney’s most recognizable soundtracks.
For travelers who love The Lion King, this experience alone may significantly influence which Wish-class ship they choose.
2. Disney Hercules in the Walt Disney Theatre
Disney Destiny is the only Disney Cruise Line ship featuring Disney Hercules, an original Broadway-style stage production created specifically for the ship.
The show retells the story of Hercules with familiar characters, humor and music from the animated film. Disney also expanded the production with new arrangements, theatrical effects and songs that were originally written for the movie but did not appear in the final theatrical release.
This is not simply another Disney stage show transferred from an existing ship. It was developed to reinforce Destiny’s larger heroes-and-villains theme.
Why It Stands Out
The story naturally fits the ship’s identity:
- Hercules represents courage and heroism.
- Hades brings one of Disney’s most entertaining villains to the stage.
- The Muses provide the music, humor and narration that made the original film distinctive.
Disney Cruise Line is known for its theatrical entertainment, but the exclusive Hercules production gives Destiny a marquee show that cannot currently be experienced aboard Wish, Treasure or any other Disney ship.
3. De Vil’s Piano Lounge
Disney Destiny does not treat its villains as background decoration. At De Vil’s, Cruella de Vil receives an entire piano lounge devoted to her unmistakable style and personality.
Located near the Grand Hall, De Vil’s is an open, theatrical space with dramatic black, white and red design details inspired by One Hundred and One Dalmatians. The menu includes cocktails, wines and other beverages presented with the same fashionable and unapologetically over-the-top attitude associated with Cruella.
What makes the venue especially memorable is that Cruella herself may appear to interact with guests, command attention and bring the lounge’s theme to life.
Why It Feels Different
Disney Wish and Disney Treasure both have beautifully themed adult lounges, but neither has anything quite like De Vil’s.
This is not a quiet venue that happens to contain a few character references. It is designed around a villain’s personality, and Cruella’s appearances make the lounge feel unpredictable and theatrical.
For adults who enjoy Disney characters but want something more sophisticated than a traditional character encounter, De Vil’s is one of Destiny’s most distinctive spaces.
4. The Black Panther Grand Hall and Its Character Encounters
Each Wish-class ship uses its Grand Hall to establish the personality of the vessel.
Disney Wish has an elegant Cinderella-inspired atrium. Disney Treasure draws from Aladdin and the architecture of Agrabah. Disney Destiny welcomes guests into a space inspired by Wakanda, with Black Panther positioned as the ship’s central statue.
The Black Panther sculpture immediately separates Destiny from its sister ships and establishes that Marvel will play a much larger role in the ship’s identity.
The Grand Hall is also the setting for character experiences developed specifically for Destiny, including:
- Celebration of a King, featuring Black Panther
- The Legend of Loki
- Under Her Spell: A Maleficent Encounter
These experiences allow both heroes and villains to take control of the Grand Hall at different points during the sailing.
Why This Matters
On many ships, the atrium is primarily a place to pass through, take photographs or attend a welcome event.
On Disney Destiny, the Grand Hall functions more like an active storytelling stage. Black Panther, Loki and Maleficent help transform the space throughout the cruise, reinforcing the ship’s theme instead of allowing it to remain purely decorative.
This makes the Grand Hall one of the clearest examples of how Destiny’s heroes-and-villains concept affects the actual guest experience.
5. The Sanctum
The Sanctum is Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by Doctor Strange and the mystical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The venue draws from the Sanctum Sanctorum, with magical artifacts, architectural details and visual references connected to Doctor Strange’s world. Its drinks also incorporate theatrical presentation and unusual effects that fit the venue’s supernatural theme.
This is a meaningful distinction because much of Marvel’s presence aboard Disney Cruise Line has traditionally focused on the Avengers, high-tech equipment and larger action sequences.
The Sanctum explores a different corner of Marvel storytelling.
Why Marvel Fans Should Notice It
The experience is less about superheroes assembling for battle and more about mystery, sorcery and hidden details. Guests who take time to examine the room may notice artifacts and references that a casual visitor could easily overlook.
Neither Disney Wish nor Disney Treasure offers a comparable Doctor Strange lounge. That makes The Sanctum one of the strongest reasons for dedicated Marvel fans to consider Disney Destiny over the other Wish-class ships.
6. Cask & Cannon
Disney Destiny’s heroes-and-villains concept is not limited to animated films and Marvel characters. Cask & Cannon brings the world of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction into an adult pub at sea.
The venue is filled with nautical details, stolen treasures, rum bottles, keys, maps and other references to the attraction. The beverage program places a particular emphasis on rum, spirits and brews, including selections served in ways that reinforce the pub’s pirate identity.
More Than Another Sports Bar
Wish-class ships include lounges where adults can watch sports, socialize and enjoy drinks, but Cask & Cannon gives that familiar function a much stronger Disney identity.
Instead of feeling like a generic cruise ship pub with a few decorations added, the space draws directly from one of Disney’s most famous theme park attractions.
For guests who love classic Disney Parks history, pirates or highly themed adult venues, Cask & Cannon offers an experience that is currently exclusive to Destiny.
7. Edna Á La Mode Sweets
Disney Destiny also has its own exclusive confectionery, Edna Á La Mode Sweets, inspired by Edna Mode and the world of Pixar’s The Incredibles.
The venue combines Edna’s fashion studio with a sweets shop, using design elements, costume references and character details from the films. Guests can purchase gelato, ice cream, specialty desserts and handmade treats in a setting that feels completely connected to Edna’s dramatic personality. Disney describes it as a one-of-a-kind confectionery created for Disney Destiny.
How It Compares With The Other Wish-Class Ships
Each Wish-class ship has a premium sweets venue with a different identity:
- Disney Wish has Joyful Sweets
- Disney Treasure has Jumbeaux’s Sweets
- Disney Destiny has Edna Á La Mode Sweets
Although the basic idea is similar, the character, atmosphere and visual storytelling are entirely different.
Edna is an especially appropriate choice for Destiny because she exists in a world filled with both superheroes and villains. Her bold personality also matches the more energetic tone found throughout the ship.
Is Disney Destiny the Best Wish-Class Ship?
After sailing Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, we do not believe there is one Wish-class ship that is automatically best for everyone.
The better question is:
Which ship’s stories, entertainment and atmosphere best match your family?
Disney Destiny may be the strongest choice for travelers who love:

Destiny does not replace those ships. It provides a distinctly different reason to choose the Wish class.
